1994-National Outstanding Artist. Painting award by Telecommunications N. Jersey Network
for his Balseros Series of oils, now part of Florida International University collection, in Miami.
1997-Honorary Prize for exceptional Artistic Achievements in Oil Paintings awarded by
Bergen County of New Jersey.
2003-2004 Silver Medal Award by The French Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters in Paris,
the same year of the publication of his memoirs of Cuba under the name Back to Cuba/
(The Return of the Butterflies)
2004- Nominated as the Visual Artist of the year by The Biographical Center of Cambridge.

2005-2007 Andalusia, Spain Special Honor Invitation to Exhibit his work Celebrating
the Hispanic heritage connection with U.S, and Hispanic America, under the Name “Cultural Roots”
2007- Special invitation to exhibit his Hispanic Heritage celebration works, including a major oil
entitled "Viva Goya", Original composition celebrating eight historical works by Goya,
honoring the work of the great Spanish painter Don: Francisco de Goya y Lucientes.
The exhibition took place in October 2007, during the Arte Zaragoza Fair, Zaragoza, Aragon.
Spain, where Goya was born.
2011- Selected for Month of May, Special Featured Artist exhibition, named "From Havana to St. Augustine"
celebrated as featured artist of the month at Professional Artist of St. Augustine, Florida, P.A.S.T.A Gallery,
with his Memories of Cuba Paintings including new works related to this his impressions of St. Augustine.
